As an artist my vision is an uplifting one. The process is a discovery, getting out of my own way and feeling moved by something outside myself where the color, composition and the whole merge to surprise and delight me with a sense of the sublime. I work with acrylic, a spray bottle, and rags building up layers and wiping away as I let my intuition guide me revealing the painting over time.
Born in Wisconsin, I studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and in Florence, Italy. After graduating I moved to WA state, north of Seattle. My creativity is fed by the rich landscape of the Skagit Vally where I live, it’s unique light, waterways and skies being a constant source of inspiration. There is so much poetry in the natural world, this is where I find my joy.
