About the Artist

Heather Yeo

"My work is inspired by several different roles I hold; a wife, a woman, and an artist. Ordinary life moments such as doing chores, hanging out, traveling, cooking, and gardening become the protagonists of my art scenes. I express my daily routines on canvas through bright colors, neat painting techniques, and joyful paint splatter. The art making process evokes my mundane but precious memories, and it concentrates my emotions on painting. Each painting represents the chapter of my own unique stories, and together they form the chronicle of my life." -Heather Yeo

Heather Yeo is a painter living and working in Berkeley, CA. Yeo paints ordinary objects or moments that she often discovers in everyday life. She integrated various painting techniques in the surface such as splattering, applying thick paint with painting knifes. Yeo received MFA from the School of Visual Arts and a BFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was selected as one of Alumni Scholarship Awardees in the School of Visual Arts (2015). She was also featured in art magazine of New American Paintings and her painting was published on the back cover of Issue 123. Her paintings have been exhibited globally in Seoul, Tel Aviv, Stockholm, and many major cities in the United States.
